Taste: This is the perfect white wine for summertime sipping! It is bright, crisp, clean, and most importantly, refreshing. This Pinot Grigio will easily rival most Pinot Grigios of the Veneto. Upon initial taste, lemon and melon engulf your palate along with noticeable-but-restrained hazelnut and banana on the finish. Backed by fresh acidity and a slight minerality, it will pair great with a garden salad or clams—or simply enjoy unaccompanied by food altogether.
Cameron Confidential: We have had our ear to the ground for about a year now looking for a good Pinot Grigio. I think by definition the stuff is an odorless, colorless liquid that is meant less to intrigue the palate than simply drink like water. We have probably tasted about 40 of them (universally boring to awful) from a variety of producers in Italy but finally found what we were looking for from a small, family-run winery in the Veneto. This wine has structure, fruit, and class you don't find in 99% of today's Pinot Grigio. We managed to get only a couple thousand cases from them this go-around, but we should be able to have the wine consistently each year.
