Taste: Deep garnet-to-burgundy in color, with an inky center and intense color concentration to the rim. A nose of dark berries, juniper, and hints of Darjeeling sets the tone for this wine. Accents of dried earth, rosemary, and thyme occupy the bouquet, which opens presenting Rhone-like characteristics. Round on the front- and mid-palate, its full body and integrated tannins provide a bold, yet honed, finish. Decant for an hour as this wine is still young.

Cameron Confidential: Coming from two different sources in Los Carneros, both from Napa and Sonoma sources, this is a Syrah that we have wanted to offer for a while now. We found the base of this wine from a consortium of Syrah producers in Carneros, known for great fruit. We then elevated it with another component Syrah, which is quite apparent in the nose. I'd suggest waiting until at least early 2010 to start drinking this wine, which shows great promise for the future, as it is still just a bit tight. Syrah is one of the best value in the market right now, so we are proud to offer this wine at the great price of $13.
