Taste: Dark red color. Brilliant nose reeks of black currant, black cherry, and raspberry fruit with hints of cedar. Smooth, rich, and silky, this wine has exceptional balance, displays outstanding complexity, and shows the deft hand of a winemaker crafting $50 wine including generous fruit and supple texture. It has weight and dimension but never sacrifices its elegance for heft or brawn. An outstanding example of Alexander Valley terroir.

Made in 40% new French oak and sourced form the warmer climes of Alexander Valley, this wine is truly built to showcase the best of AV. Still selling the 2004 and 2005 wines, the winery opted to sell us the 2006 production in its entirety.

Cameron Confidential: Last summer we were invited to visit one of the facilities in a recently formed marketing group for several wineries in the Napa/Sonoma area. We were shown about 10 wines, and suffice it to say we bought everything they put in front of us, ranging from Carneros Pinot Noir and Chardonnay all the way to Atlas Peak Cabernet and Alexander Valley Meritage. Everything we bought was finished bottling blend, simply excess wines above and beyond their anticipated sales projections, and all were ready to go right into the bottle. And into the bottle they went!
