Taste: Huge fruit bomb with gorgeous aromatics of dried dark cherries, black pepper, caramel, and sweet toffee. It is just as rich on the palate, with good, firm tannins and coffee/toffee, dried cherry, black tea, and black pepper flavors that linger well, developing rich cherry liqueur notes as it opens up. Overall, this is a gargantuan wine not for the faint of heart. If you like 'em big and rich, they don't get much better than this. It will continue to build for another three to six years.
Cameron Confidential: This super-ripe Syrah comes to us from a highly regarded vineyard that is one of the few to plant Syrah on Mt. Veeder. It is made by one of the more in-demand consulting winemakers for a $45 bottle program under the vineyard owner's label. This is a classic example of why our Lot program is unique—anyone else would have blended this gem away to fix a larger blend or sold it off as a one-off private label to a retailer who would sell it as a value at $30.
