Taste: This is serious juice that explodes out of the glass with vanilla, blackberry, plum, and anise. Huge structure with a mid-palate of strawberries, vanilla, and plummy spice. We have only 300 cases of this wine, so grab it before it's gone. Online only!
Cameron Confidential: Lot 105 2004 Sonoma Mountain Syrah is by far the best deal today simply due to its maturity and accessibility. (You may also recall that the retail on these wines under the grower's label was $30). Remember Lot 31 2005 Sonoma Mountain Syrah? This is the 2004 vintage from the same grower, and it is simply spectacular. Why he didn't sell this to me earlier is anyone's guess. Anyhow, we bought and bottled the 2006 as well and have the 2007 in barrel. The whole vineyard was budded over from Syrah to Pinot Noir last summer, so these are the last vintages of this wine (which is probably why he just sold me the entire inventory).
