Taste: Dark wine, purple black. Gorgeous, intense nose of scorched earth, currants, cassis, and plums. There is a high-toned, violet-like flowery component, backed up with vanilla and spice. Super-smooth and imminently drinkable on the palate (18 months of barrel time).
Cameron Confidential: This wine comes to us from a world-renowned and most consistently high-scoring Stellenbosch producer who blends a classic Bordeaux Meritage with five varietals and sells it for $60 – $90 a bottle here in the US. We were able to buy a substantial portion in left-over barrel lots but with only 3 of the 5 varietals. Who cares if we are missing a varietal or two? I stand by this wine as one of the best Stellenbosch Cabernet blends available on the market today, at any price.
