Cameron Hughes Lot 38 Barossa Shiraz 100 Year Old Vines, 2005, Australia
This Barossa Shiraz from 100 year old Vines is part of the Cameron Hughes line.
It is deep dark mahogany in the glass, opaque just a little bit from the edge. Luscious aromas of candied black cherry, spilling gently from the glass.
On the palate, a full-middle, black ink note, with lively acids taking the tarry mixture around the mouth. Fabulous length. Less tannins perhaps than deep fruit, acid and length - but excellent balance. Four stars out of five.
