Our History

Cameron Hughes Wine was founded by Cameron Hughes in November of 2001. As a wine negociant, Cameron is dedicated to providing exceptional wine at exceptional prices.

The term ‘negociant’ applies to one who purchases excess wines direct from wineries (in our case, some of the best wineries in the world) and sells them to consumers. Cameron, who grew up around the wine business and spent 5 years at the Wine Group, has taken the stance of negociant to a whole new level.

When Cameron first started developing the company, his philosophy was simple: purchase small lots of ultra-premium wine and offer it to consumers at an amazing price. While other negociants may blend cheaper, lower quality wine into better wine to extend the volume of their product, Cameron decided to preserve the individual quality of each wine by selling it as is, or blending it with wines of equal quality, to create a distinctively new wine. While the products would eventually run out, Cameron realized that he could provide a treasure-hunt experience for his customers by consistently offering something new and exciting.  This philosophy was the birth of our Lot program.

With each lot, we are able to promise an unheard of quality to price ratio. As a negociant, we do not own vineyards or a winery. We bottle the wine ourselves and use the most efficient means possible to get it to consumers. Because of our low overhead and direct to retail shipping, we are able to deliver $20 to $40 quality reds at price points from $7.99 to $14.99, and $12 to $25 quality whites at price points from $8.99 to $12.95. 

Since our humble beginning in 2001, our sales have more than doubled each year we have been in business. Because of the high demand, we began online orders in 2005 and our wines are featured in Costco and other top retailers across the country.  Our fan base has grown immensely since 2001 and our wines are selling out faster than ever.

Our original philosophy of finding the best wine deals in the business and offering them to our customers at an exceptional value is still our top priority and we hope you find the Cameron Hughes name to be synonymous with killer quality and extraordinary value.
